About the Position

Job Title: RN Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Active RN License Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: Experience in Stepdown or progressive care Telemetry experience Experience with titratable or cardiac IV medications such as nitroglycerin, Cardizem, amiodarone, dopamine, dobutrex, insulin drip, heparin, bumex/Lasix Description: The unit has 40 beds. There is a charge nurse and staff bedside nurses for each shift. The night shift consists of one charge nurse and ten bedside nurses. Patient ratios are typically 1:4, with some instances of 1:5. Patients primarily include those with congestive heart failure, myocardial infarction, chest pain, arrhythmia, pulmonary hypertension, valvular disease, endocarditis, diabetic ketoacidosis, and post cardiac procedures. The equipment used includes Zoll monitors, Baxter pumps, lift equipment, bladder scanners, and EMR with Cerner. Candidates must possess a flexible, positive attitude, and be great team players who are compassionate. Preferred experience includes prostacyclins. Typical procedures performed on the unit include bedside cardioversion. The unit may require floating to all Medical Surgical units, Stepdown units, and COVID units. The dress code consists of all white or all navy blue scrubs, or a white top with navy blue pants. Weekends required are every other weekend.
