Optimum Technologies (OpTech) is looking for a full-time Senior Aerospace Mechanical/Electrical Technician. This Senior Technician will support spacecraft

structural buildup, component/hardware installations, spacecraft testing, and testing of ground support equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

 Performing integration and assembly of satellite structures to drawings and work

instructions.

 Perform integration of avionics and harnessing on payloads ranging from

nanosat to ESPAStar Grande.

 Perform assembly and test of mechanical support equipment.

 Provide mentoring of junior techs and I&T staff.

 Develop work instructions and test procedures.

 Possess a thorough understanding of internal and industry relevant standards

and requirements to ensure a high-quality product is produced.

 Lead proof load testing of mechanical ground equipment.

 Support electrical testing of payloads.

 Support harness fabrication efforts under guidance of harness lab lead.

 Prepare payloads for environmental testing to include installation of test sensors.

 Perform/Support thermal vacuum, vibration, thermal cycling, and EMI/EMC

testing.

 Maintain inventory of tooling, track calibration needs, and maintain equipment.

 Maintain quality standards and workspace cleanliness (100k cleanroom).

 Adhere to health and safety requirements.

 Uphold the Company values and being part of the team.

 Communicate effectively with team members and other departments.

 Ensure processes and cleanroom protocols are followed by all personnel.

 Travel to test facilities is required. Percent of travel varies.

Preferred Qualifications:

 High school diploma or equivalent

 7+ years of experience in the Aerospace industry building satellite buses and/or

satellite payloads.

 Be on time, reliable, and professional.

 Ability to communicate effectively with team members and customers.

 Basic Microsoft office skills.

 Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently with minimal

supervision.

 Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot a wide range of

issues effectively.

 Bonus – certifications in harness fabrication and/or soldering.

Physical Qualifications:

 Climb ladders and stairs.

 Ability to lift and move materials up to 50 lbs for a limited duration.

 Ability to work in a production environment for extended periods of time, including

sitting, standing, and handling small components.

 Work schedule may vary and depend on hardware and testing.

 Remain flexible by working overtime and weekends (when necessary).
