Technician Production Manager in TrainingAs a Technician Production Manager in Training, you'll embark on a structured development program designed to prepare you for success as a Technician Production Manager. This role equips you with the tools, knowledge, and leadership skills needed to manage production operations effectively. Whether you're advancing your career or growing your skillset, we are here to drive you forward.Role ResponsibilitiesEnsure proper staffing across technician positions to maintain smooth operations.Manage vehicle flow through the reconditioning process.Achieve production targets for mechanical work zones while maintaining CarMax quality standards.Monitor technician billed hours per unit to meet company benchmarks.Oversee mechanical inspection approvals and prioritize vehicles using CarMax internal systems.Drive associate engagement through Associate Care and Communication (AC&C) tools such as round tables and one-on-ones, and lead performance management feedback sessions and development plansResponsible for the Environmental, Health and Safety (EH&S) program for your department and/or location, including but not limited to self-inspections, hazardous waste disposal, workplace safety, and PPE.Required QualificationsAbility to read, interpret, and maintain accurate data records for production processes.Completion of CarMax-provided training across all production areas.Strong multi-tasking skills in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.May require walking or standing for an extended period of time.Effective communication skills for interacting with associates and customers across departments.Proficiency in basic computer applications for operational tasks.Preferred Qualifications1 year of experience as a Manager or Automotive Technician preferred.At CarMax, we revolutionized the used car buying experience over 30 years ago by introducing transparency and integrity into the process.
