Clinical Role
Seeking a Cardiac Surgeon for short-term hospital-based coverage. A strong cardiac surgery background is required; thoracic experience is preferred but not required.
Assignment Details
Coverage Dates:
Candidates must be available for one of the following:
December 24-28, 2026 -

Preferred

December 28, 2026-January 4, 2027

Schedule:
24-hour coverage, 7:00 AM-7:00 AM Approximately 4-7 shifts per month 1-2 Cardiothoracic surgical cases per day Adult and geriatric patients

Clinical Responsibilities
Adult cardiac surgery CABG, including arterial revascularization and redo cases Heart valve repair/replacement ICU management of high-risk cardiac patients Impella insertion, removal, and bailout Structural heart procedure support in Hybrid OR/Cath Lab General thoracic procedures preferred but not required

Support & Practice Setting
Hospital-based 1 Heart OR and 1 Hybrid OR First Assist with endoscopic saphenous vein harvest experience Dedicated Cardiothoracic anesthesia support Collaborative ICU team Epic EMR

Requirements
Board Certified - Required Adult Cardiac Surgery experience - Required Impella support - Required Structural Heart support - Required BLS - Required Kentucky license preferred; willing to license Clean professional history - Required
