CNC Operator

CNC Operator We are currently seeking a skilled and dependable CNC Operator to join our team in Warren, RI. The CNC Operator is responsible for setting up, adjusting, operating, and maintaining CNC equipment to meet precise dimensional and surface finish specifications. This role requires the ability to edit and optimize machine programs at the CNC control console and ensure all products meet quality standards. Essential Functions Responsible for completing machine set‑ups and operating CNC equipment with minimal supervision. Make machine tool offsets or adjustments as needed to maintain specifications. Maintain operator‑level dimensional quality using inspection tools and the operator self‑inspect system. Inspect for visual defects such as dents, burrs, scratches, etc. to maintain visual quality. Run multiple machines as required by process or as directed. Perform and train on complex set‑ups for all shop CNC machines. Produce product on CNC or manual machines to meet or exceed department standards. Load and unload machines as per cycle time noted on the router. Determine when wheels and/or tools need replacement. Study part drawings, setup sheets, work order instructions, and other process instructions to determine product specifications, tool requirements, and operational sequences. Work safely by following all safety rules, stopping work if an unsafe condition is identified, and reporting safety concerns immediately. Taking initiative and making decisions based on known policies and procedures with minimal supervision. Participate in total quality and process improvement efforts by recommending methods, equipment, techniques, and other changes. Identify production problems and notify cell lead or supervisor. Assist in determining tools and fixture needs. Maintain proper documentation of data and collaborate with management staff and supervisor. Support troubleshooting efforts. Store and handle Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) appropriately. Support visitor and security policies to protect ITAR/EAR/CMMC/CUI information. Handle hazardous waste generated in the work area properly. Perform other duties as assigned. Maintain regular and acceptable attendance. Ability to read, understand, and communicate internal procedures and policies. Proficient with measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and comparators. Proficient with G & M codes and GD&T. Experience holding tight tolerances between .001” and .005”. Familiar with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement techniques. Local to the Rhode Island facility. Required Experience, Education, Training, and Certifications High School Diploma or equivalent required. Minimum 2 years of manufacturing experience required; relevant co‑op, internship, or vocational training considered. Experience operating CNC, manual, or semi‑automated production equipment preferred. Experience reading blueprints or part drawings and using basic precision measuring instruments preferred. Physical Requirements Able to stand constantly, walk frequently, sit occasionally, bend, squat, kneel occasionally, reach outward and above shoulder occasionally, use fine manipulation continuously, handle and grasp tools repetitively, rotate parts constantly, read and write in English, push/pull and lift/carry up to 10 lbs constantly, 11–20 lbs occasionally, 21–50 lbs occasionally. Visual acuity to see close detail, distance, and colors constantly. May come into contact with chemicals. Work Environment and Safety Equipment Required Manufacturing shop atmosphere with open floor space, noisy at times, and climate controlled. Work onsite per business needs and standard hours. Wear required personal protective equipment constantly. ITAR/EAR Compliance This position requires access to export‑controlled information and/or hardware. Candidates must be U.S. persons that comply with all U.S. export control laws and regulations.
