This role focuses on providing high-quality plumbing services in residential and light commercial environments, including installations, troubleshooting, repairs, remodel work, and service calls. You work independently in the field, delivering reliable solutions, strong customer service, and craftsmanship that meets or exceeds local plumbing codes and safety standards. The position offers consistent, year-round work with a mix of service, installation, and project-based assignments, primarily Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Responsibilities
  • Install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems, fixtures, and piping in residential and light commercial settings.
  • Diagnose plumbing issues accurately and develop effective, long-lasting repair solutions.
  • Perform water heater installations, replacements, and related service work.
  • Install, repair, and maintain drains, water lines, sewer lines, and gas lines.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to plan and complete plumbing work.
  • Complete plumbing work for bathroom and kitchen remodels, including rough-in and finish work.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance and routine inspections on plumbing systems and related equipment.
  • Ensure all work complies with local plumbing codes, regulations, and safety standards.
  • Respond to and complete service calls, providing timely and professional plumbing solutions.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with customers to explain issues, repair options, and recommendations.
  • Accurately document completed work, materials used, and any follow-up needs or recommendations.
  • Collaborate with other field technicians and project teams as needed on installations and larger projects.
  • Maintain company tools, equipment, and vehicle (if provided) in clean, safe, and working condition.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies while working on job sites and traveling between locations.
Essential Skills
  • At least 3+ years of residential and/or commercial plumbing experience.
  • Proven ability to independently diagnose and repair plumbing systems without constant supervision.
  • Hands-on experience with residential service work and/or commercial plumbing projects.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for identifying plumbing issues and implementing effective solutions.
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with customers.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for traveling to job sites.
  • Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding work.
  • Ability to work in various environmental conditions, including indoor and outdoor job sites.
  • Comfort working on service calls and installations across a variety of plumbing systems.
  • Experience installing, repairing, and maintaining plumbing fixtures, piping, water lines, sewer lines, and gas lines.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Journeyman Plumber License or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with HVAC service or installation.
  • Boiler experience, including installation, maintenance, and repair.
  • Experience with water heaters, including installation and replacement.
  • Experience with gas piping installation and repair.
  • Drain cleaning and sewer scope experience.
  • New construction or remodel experience in residential and light commercial settings.
  • Experience as a service technician with strong customer-facing skills.
  • Ability to interpret construction documents and coordinate plumbing work with other trades.
  • Familiarity with mechanical systems and basic HVAC concepts.
  • Experience working as a service plumber, journeyman plumber, commercial plumber, residential service technician, lead installer, or HVAC/plumbing combination technician.

Work Environment

Work primarily takes place at residential and commercial job sites throughout the greater Pittsburgh area. You handle a mix of service work, preventative maintenance, installations, remodels, and project-based assignments, providing a variety of daily tasks. The schedule is generally Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with local travel between job sites within the region. The role involves working in basements, mechanical rooms, crawl spaces, and outdoor areas, often in varying weather and environmental conditions. You use standard plumbing tools and equipment, and may operate company-provided vehicles, fuel cards, and tools when applicable. Company-provided uniforms support a professional appearance on job sites. The environment emphasizes safety, teamwork, and professionalism, with ongoing training and support to help you perform at a high level while maintaining safe work practices.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Swissvale, PA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $40.00/hr.
