The primary role of a Security Software Engineer is to apply computer science and mathematical principles to design, develop, test, and evaluate software and systems that ensure computer functionality. - Direct programmers and analysts to make changes to existing databases and database management systems.
- Oversee coding of logical and physical database descriptions.
- Review project requests to understand database user needs and estimate time and cost for project completion.
- Review and approve database development, determining project scope and limitations.
- Approve, schedule, plan, and supervise installation and testing of new products and improvements to computer systems.
- Implement security measures to safeguard information in computer files against unauthorized access, damage, modification, or disclosure.
- Develop standards and guidelines for software use and acquisition to protect vulnerable information.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Proficient customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Leadership and mentoring skills to provide support and constructive feedback.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the full software development lifecycle.
- Ability to troubleshoot issues and implement system changes as needed.
- In-depth understanding of circuit boards, processors, electronic equipment, and computer hardware and software.
- Proficient in computer development software across multiple platforms.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a relevant field is required.
- 8-10 years of experience in engineering, security development, Python, software testing, and project engineering.
- Experience in software testing.
