First Assist Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking a skilled First Assist Registered Nurse (RN) to join our surgical team. The ideal candidate will support surgeons during operations by performing essential tasks that ensure smooth surgical procedures. This role requires a specialized focus on patient safety and surgical efficacy.

Responsibilities

• Assist surgeons in various surgical procedures, including suturing, providing exposure, and controlling bleeding.
• Ensure that the operating room is prepared, organized, and sterile before, during, and after surgical operations.
• Work collaboratively with anesthesiologists and other operating room personnel to deliver high-quality patient care.
• Monitor and maintain appropriate inventory of surgical supplies and equipment.
• Participate in continuing education and professional development activities to maintain necessary skills and certifications.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Kentucky.
• Certification through the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or the National Commission for the Certification of Surgical Assistants (NCCSA) is required.
• Completion of accredited training relevant to the role, such as a certificate, diploma, or associate degree program.
• Minimum of two years of nursing experience with a focus on surgical assistance.
• Prior experience in surgical settings is preferred.
