Job Title Experienced, Lead, or Senior Lead Manufacturing Engineer (Fabrication) Company The Boeing Company – Boeing Commercial Airplanes Description Boeing Commercial Airplanes is seeking experienced Manufacturing Engineers to support the Fabrication division in Auburn, WA and Puyallup, WA. A successful candidate will have passion, creativity, and an insatiable drive for process improvement and efficiency. They should also enjoy working on the factory floor, interacting with mechanics, and directly supporting the production system. This role requires a high level of responsibility and a commitment to safety, quality, and integrity. Primary Responsibilities Engage in the implementation of technical solutions into the build plan, ensuring production safety, stability, and product reliability. Analyze and improve design/build concepts to evaluate a producible product definition (Design for Manufacturing and Assembly – DFMA). Collect and analyze production data to identify anomalies and investigate root causes when product first-pass quality and/or production efficiency is outside our standards of excellence. Troubleshoot and resolve technical problems that arise during production to ensure product integrity and minimize impact on performance, cost or schedule. Regularly engage with mechanics and electricians on airplane manufacturing/assembly processes, identifying and implementing opportunities to improve the efficiency and reliability of the production of detail parts and overall aircraft build plan. Coordinate across teams to implement new engineering principles, theories, advanced technologies and concepts. Apply technical knowledge to innovate, design, and develop manufacturing and assembly processes, tooling, assembly fixtures and procedures. Develop and implement process improvements using Lean production methodologies. Learn in a fast‑paced environment and collaborate with both the engineering workforce and manufacturing team members on the factory floor. Basic Qualifications Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or a non‑U.S. equivalent qualification directly related to the work statement. 5 or more years of experience working in an engineering discipline. 5 or more years of experience working in a production environment. 5 or more years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Preferred Qualifications (Lead Level4) 9 or more years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. (Senior Lead Level5) 14 or more years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
