Nurse Practitioner - Occupational Health

Location Union City, United States Sector Medical & Nursing Salary $75.00 to $83.00 per hour Occupational Health Nurse Practitioner Full‑time, ongoing contract opportunity with Yoh’s manufacturing client located in Union City, CA. The clinic offers occupational and preventative care for employees. You will typically be the only provider/medical professional onsite. The position involves a focus on the protection of individuals from occupational and environmental hazards, illness and injury prevention, and health promotion. Shift Monday‑Friday 9:00am to 5:30pm Top Skills You Should Possess Active/unrestricted Nurse Practitioner (ANP/FNP) license in the state of California and willing to obtain for other states if needed Current prescription authority (DEA preferred) Minimum of 5 years’ experience as an NP Previous experience in Occupational/Employee Health, Emergency Medicine, Urgent Care, Corrections, Primary Care, or Family Practice type setting Must be confident with drawing blood What You’ll Be Doing Assessment, triage, treatment, and education for employee health concerns Medical surveillance: hearing conservation, spirometry, respirator fit testing, phlebotomy, etc. Perform onsite physical assessments (pre-placement, return-to-work, fitness‑for‑duty) Ambulatory care such as treating sore throats, ear aches, rashes, pink eye, etc. Review and interpret results and reports, including history/physical, EKG, lab work, spirometry, and audiograms Provide onsite testing for strep pharyngitis, UTI, influenza, hyperglycemia and hypoglycemia Work collaboratively to recognize environmental hazards and/or stresses in or from the workplace that may cause sickness, impaired health, or discomfort among workers; create preventative measures that ensure the health and safety of employees Provide support and case management for both work‑related and non‑work‑related conditions for the purpose of reducing illness and absenteeism Respond to medical emergencies onsite and provide emergency medical care as needed What You Need to Bring to the Table Nationally Certified (ANCC or AANP) Current BLS Trained in spirometry (NIOSH Certified) Audiometry testing certified (CAOHC/COHC) Computer skills with previous experience using EMR (experience with Cority a plus!)
