Manufacturing Technician I

We are a 5‑year running Top Workplace in the Greater St. Louis area. Job Summary Leonardo DRS is seeking a full‑time Manufacturing Technician for our Bridgeton, MO facility. The role involves electro‑mechanical and cable harness assembly, disassembly, rework, testing, and repair of electronic products and mechanical assemblies. The technician will work from wiring and assembly drawings, operation sheets, engineering specifications, and sketches of varying complexity. Job Responsibilities Perform electro‑mechanical assembly, disassembly, and rework; test and repair electronic products and mechanical assemblies. Work from complex wiring and assembly drawings, operation sheets, engineering specifications, and sketches. Provide routine technical support to engineers and scientists on components, devices, materials, products, processes, and equipment. Design and test prototype assemblies and production units. Perform related manufacturing processes and interpret SOPs and safety rules. Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory requirements and maintain necessary certifications. Coordinate with other departments to ensure efficient flow of information and materials. Meet production deadlines, maintain quality of finished product, manage raw material stock levels, and achieve compliance outcomes. Prioritize and adapt to changing operational conditions. Read, develop, and modify wiring diagrams, layout drawings, and engineering specifications for system or equipment changes. Supervise personnel performing routine installation and maintenance duties. Support and communicate the organization’s mission, values, and culture. Qualifications High school diploma or GED. Experience handling small delicate components with ESD practices. Experience in the safe handling of chemicals. Excellent hand‑and‑eye coordination. Strong decision‑making and leadership skills. Physical ability to walk, sit, stand, stoop, climb, kneel, and bend for extended periods. Ability to lift heavy materials. Ability to work in restricted spaces in and around vehicles. Experience in soldering and wire bonding a plus. Proficiency with computer applications, including MS Office. Experience with MRP a plus. Salary & Benefits The salary range for this position is $38,774.00 per year – $48,468.00 per year for Illinois. The range reflects the good faith estimate of pay the employer is willing to offer at the time of posting.
