Job Summary Under minimal supervision, provide nursing care for a group of patients assigned to the nurse based on matching the patients’ needs with the nurse’s competencies. Complete established competencies for the position within the designated introductory period. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications Graduate of an accredited school of nursing Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing Minimum Experience None required for Med/Surg and Behavioral Health 1 year in acute/chronic dialysis for Dialysis Preferred Experience 2 years in acute care for Med/Surg 2 years in a psychiatric facility for Behavioral Health 2 years in acute/chronic dialysis for Dialysis Required Certifications / Licensure Current Texas State License for Registered Nurse For RN in Behavioral Health: Non‑Violent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 60 days of hire or transfer into the department Preferred Certifications / Licensure Active healthcare provider Basic Life Support at hire (ARC or AHA); AHA Healthcare Provider BLS within 60 days of hire For Dialysis Department: ACLS (AHA) completed within 60 days of hire or transfer into the unit For Behavioral Health Unit: Non‑Violent Crisis Intervention for Behavioral Health obtained within 60 days of hire or transfer into role Organization Description Baptist Health System has a 120‑year history of caring for our community and making a positive difference.
