Fire Alarm / Security Systems TechnicianWe are seeking an experienced Fire Alarm / Security Systems Technician to install, service, troubleshoot, program, and test commercial fire alarm and electronic security systems.This position is ideal for a technician with hands-on experience in fire alarm, access control, intrusion detection, IP video/CCTV, or commercial low-voltage systems who is comfortable working independently, troubleshooting system-level issues, and interacting directly with customers.The position is primarily local/regional with approximately 20–30% travel. Most work is performed during normal daytime hours, with occasional nights or alternative shifts based on customer and project requirements.What You'll DoInstall, service, troubleshoot, repair, and upgrade commercial fire alarm, access control, intrusion alarm, and IP video systemsInstall and program fire alarm control panels and associated devicesTest fire alarm systems and components to verify proper operation and code complianceInstall access control devices including card readers, door contacts, request-to-exit devices, electric strikes, maglocks, and control panelsInstall and troubleshoot intrusion detection and IP video/CCTV systemsPull, route, terminate, label, and test low-voltage cablingPerform cable pathway work, including concrete drilling and limited conduit bendingInstall sensors and devices in commercial facilities, including locations requiring ladders or liftsRead and interpret blueprints, site maps, wiring diagrams, electrical layouts, and system drawingsTroubleshoot newly installed and existing systems to identify wiring, programming, communication, or equipment issuesCommission and test systems prior to customer turnoverAssist with technical planning and pre-installation activitiesProvide technical escalation support both on-site and remotelyCoordinate with Installation Team Leads and Project Managers regarding schedules, equipment, and project requirementsMaintain accurate documentation of work performedEnsure installations meet applicable local, state, federal, electrical, fire, and life-safety requirementsFollow company, customer, and OSHA safety requirementsWhat We're Looking ForHands-on commercial field experience with one or more of the following: Fire alarm systemsAccess control systemsIntrusion alarm systemsElectronic security systemsIP video / CCTVCommercial low-voltage systemsAbility to independently install, test, troubleshoot, and service low-voltage systemsExperience reading blueprints, wiring diagrams, site plans, and electrical layoutsUnderstanding of low-voltage wiring, terminations, devices, control panels, and system communicationsWorking knowledge of applicable codes and standards, including NFPA 70 and NFPA 72Ability to use meters, hand tools, power tools, drills, and common low-voltage installation equipmentAbility and willingness to work from lifts at heights of approximately 20–60 feetStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving skillsStrong customer-service and communication skillsComfortable working independently at customer locationsProficiency with smartphones, laptops, email, spreadsheets, and electronic work-management systemsValid driver's license and ability to meet company driving requirementsReliable transportation during the initial training period before a company vehicle is issuedBasic PPE and appropriate technician toolsCertifications and LicensingNICET certification is strongly preferredCurrent state-required Life Safety, Fire Alarm, Physical Security, or related license, where required for the work being performedAdditional manufacturer certifications are a plusCandidates with strong hands-on commercial experience are encouraged to apply even if they do not currently hold every preferred certification.Preferred Technical ExperienceFire Alarm: Notifier, Fire-Lite, Simplex, EST/Edwards, Siemens, Gamewell-FCI, Silent Knight, Honeywell, Bosch, or similar systemsAccess Control / Security: LenelS2, Genetec, Software House/C•CURE, Avigilon, AMAG, Brivo, DMP, Honeywell, Bosch, HID, or similar systemsExperience with a specific manufacturer is not required if you have strong transferable fire alarm, security, electrical, or low-voltage experience.Travel and ScheduleApproximately 20–30% travelPrimarily day shift, generally around 8:00 AM–5:00 PMSome night, weekend, or off-shift work may be required based on customer or project needsOccasional overnight travelMust be comfortable working at active commercial job sitesCandidates From These Backgrounds Are Encouraged to ApplyFire Alarm Technician | Fire Alarm Service Technician | Security Systems Technician | Electronic Security Technician | Access Control Technician | Life Safety Technician | Alarm Technician | Low Voltage Technician | Field Service TechnicianWe are particularly interested in technicians who have progressed beyond basic cable installation and can troubleshoot systems, test equipment, program or configure devices, interpret plans, and solve technical problems in the field.Why This OpportunityThis position provides an opportunity to work across multiple technologies rather than being limited to a single system.
