Job Description:

We are searching for the best talent to join our team as a Senior Manager, Global Oncology Communications, Bladder Cancer and GU Public Affairs. This is a hybrid role available in Raritan, NJ or Spring House, PA.

The Senior Manager, Global Oncology Communications, Bladder Cancer and GU Public Affairs supports Innovative Medicine Communications and Public Affairs by helping execute integrated global communications strategies that advance business priorities, strengthen stakeholder trust, and enhance Johnson & Johnson’s reputation in oncology, with bladder cancer as the primary area of focus within the genitourinary cancer portfolio.

This role partners closely with Global Therapeutic Area Communications, R&D, Global Commercial Strategy, Medical Affairs, Public Affairs, regional and local market teams, and other enterprise partners to support clear narratives, aligned messaging and materials, and coordinated execution across global and local channels.

The role operates within a highly matrixed, global-to-local model, contributing to product, reputation and organizational communications that support bladder cancer portfolio milestones, disease awareness, innovation storytelling, market-shaping priorities and key lifecycle moments, while helping ensure alignment across the broader GU strategy.

Key Responsibilities

Therapeutic Area Communications Strategy & Execution

• Support global and local communications and public affairs activations for the bladder cancer portfolio, while helping ensure alignment across the broader genitourinary cancer strategy.
• Provide support for prostate cancer communications and public affairs initiatives as needed, in alignment with broader GU priorities.
• Contribute market and stakeholder insights to the development of global communications and public affairs strategies for bladder cancer, aligned with business priorities, portfolio milestones and lifecycle moments, including data readouts, launches and growth initiatives.

• Translate complex scientific data and strategies into clear, compelling messaging across earned, owned, and paid channels.
• Adapt and deliver core messaging, content, and campaigns for local market impact.

• Support proactive communications that differentiate Johnson & Johnson as a global health innovator in bladder cancer, including disease awareness, innovation storytelling, product communications and reputation-building initiatives.

• Contribute to successful local product launches and support priority growth brands at key moments.

Cross-Functional Leadership & Strategic Counsel

• Serve as a trusted partner to internal stakeholders across Global Therapeutic Area Communications, R&D, Global Commercial Strategy, Medical Affairs, Public Affairs, regional and local market teams.

• Provide day-to-day communications counsel to connect business objectives with communications outcomes and inform decision-making.
• Align communications strategies with public affairs, policy, and access considerations to support market shaping and stakeholder engagement.
• Collaborate with regional and global teams to co-create strategies and ensure strong pull-through of global priorities into local execution.

• Operate effectively in a matrixed model, helping connect senior leader priorities, cross-functional inputs and local market needs into coordinated communications plans.

Global-to-Local Integration & Execution

• Enable a globally consistent, locally activated communications model by partnering with regional and global teams to adapt strategies, messaging, and materials.
• Ensure alignment with governance, regulatory, and compliance requirements in market.

• Contribute to coordinated execution of media, digital, stakeholder, congress and campaign activities in partnership with core capabilities teams.

Public Affairs Integration

• Embed public affairs considerations into Therapeutic Area strategies to support policy, access, and market-shaping priorities.
• Partner with Public Affairs colleagues to align messaging, stakeholder engagement, and external positioning.
• Support activation value narratives that reinforce access, reimbursement, and policy objectives.

Insights, Monitoring & Continuous Improvement

• Support monitoring and analysis of media, stakeholder, policy and competitive landscapes to identify risks, opportunities and emerging issues that may affect the bladder cancer portfolio.

• Contribute to measurement, reporting, and analytics to assess communications impact and inform strategy refinement.
• Capture insights and best practices to improve global toolkits, messaging, and execution models over time.

• Leverage centralized tools, platforms, and capabilities (e.g., digital, media, measurement) to drive consistency and efficiency.

• Support simplification, scalability, and reduced duplication across communications efforts.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree a plus
• Minimum of 8+ years of experience in communications, public affairs, or related field (corporate, agency, NGO, or government) with a strong track record of results

• Experience supporting global or regional communications strategies, including oncology, therapeutic area, product or portfolio communications; bladder cancer or genitourinary oncology experience preferred.

• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a matrixed, global environment and influence cross-functional stakeholders
• Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills, including translating complex scientific content into accessible messaging

• Experience supporting media, digital, stakeholder engagement, congress and integrated communications campaigns.
• Strong organizational, analytical and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality work in a fast-paced, highly matrixed environment.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is :

$122,000.00 - $212,750.00

Subject to the terms of their respective plans, employees are eligible to participate in the Company’s consolidated retirement plan (pension) and savings plan (401(k))


Subject to the terms of their respective policies and date of hire, employees are eligible for the following time off benefits:


Vacation –120 hours per calendar year
Sick time - 40 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Colorado –48 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Washington –56 hours per calendar year
Holiday pay, including Floating Holidays –13 days per calendar year
Work, Personal and Family Time - up to 40 hours per calendar year
Parental Leave – 480 hours within one year of the birth/adoption/foster care of a child
Bereavement Leave – 240 hours for an immediate family member: 40 hours for an extended family member per calendar year
Caregiver Leave – 80 hours in a 52-week rolling period10 days
