Generator Technician
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Generator Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience servicing, maintaining, and repairing standby and portable generators, with specific expertise in Generac and Kohler generator systems.
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine preventative maintenance on Generac and Kohler generators, including oil changes, filter replacements, coolant service, and load bank testing
- Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and fuel system issues on generator equipment
- Perform repairs and component replacements as needed to restore units to proper working order
- Conduct on-site inspections and start-up testing of newly installed generators
- Respond to emergency service calls and provide timely repairs to minimize customer downtime
- Complete detailed service reports and maintain accurate records of all work performed
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and manufacturer guidelines on all service work
- Communicate professionally with customers and provide updates on repair status
Requirements:
- Minimum 1 year of hands-on experience servicing and repairing generators
- Experience working on Generac and Kohler generator brands is required
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, engines, and generator controls
- Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and technical manuals
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Ability to work independently in the field and manage a service schedule
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Generac or Kohler factory certification (a plus, but not required)
