Job Title: Assembler Job Description
The Assembler role focuses on producing utility-type pumps and water filtration components by performing a variety of assembly, testing, and packaging operations on a production line. You work with hand and power tools to complete mechanical and electrical assembly tasks, follow basic work instructions, and help ensure that finished products meet performance and quality standards before shipment.
Responsibilities

• Perform assembly operations on utility-type pumps, including oil filling, completing electrical connections, and applying decals according to established procedures.
• Administer performance tests on finished pumps and related products to verify proper operation and quality before final packaging.
• Complete final packaging operations, ensuring products are correctly labeled, packaged, and prepared for shipment.
• Gather required materials and components for each job, following work orders and production schedules.
• Polish, assemble, or weld shell and suction assemblies as needed to complete the final product configuration.
• Perform final assembly of water filtration products and pump units, ensuring all components are correctly installed and secured.
• Follow basic written and verbal instructions to complete production-based assembly tasks accurately and efficiently.
• Use hand and power tools safely and effectively for assembly, polishing, and minor welding tasks as required.
• Work on a production line, maintaining consistent output and meeting daily production targets.
• Label products and packaging correctly to ensure proper identification and traceability.
• Adhere to all safety guidelines, procedures, and practices throughout the assembly and testing process.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, supporting overall plant cleanliness and efficiency.
• Stand for extended periods, typically up to an entire shift, while performing assembly and production tasks.
• Follow attendance expectations and understand that consistent, reliable attendance is required to maintain assignment.

Essential Skills

• Ability to follow basic written and verbal instructions in a production environment.
• Experience or comfort working with hand tools and power tools for assembly tasks.
• Ability to perform production line work, maintaining focus and consistency throughout the shift.
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to work with mechanical components and assemblies.
• Capability to stand for up to 8 hours during a shift while performing job duties.
• Attention to detail when performing oil fill, electrical connections, decal application, and labeling.
• Basic understanding of safe tool usage and adherence to safety procedures in a manufacturing setting.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in assembly, manufacturing, or production line work is beneficial.
• Familiarity with labeling and packaging processes in a plant environment is an advantage.
• Ability to perform basic polishing and light welding tasks on shells and suction assemblies is helpful.
• Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with performance and quality expectations.
• Willingness to work a second shift schedule from 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality, with an understanding of structured attendance policies.

Work Environment
This role is based in a manufacturing plant that produces water filtration systems and related components for shipment. The facility is well lit and relatively clean, with a focus on maintaining an orderly production area. The plant is not climate controlled, so temperatures can become hot during the summer months. You work on a production line and use hand and power tools as part of daily tasks. Safety is a core cultural priority, and you can see that reflected in the emphasis on protective practices, procedures, and equipment throughout the facility. The position follows a second shift schedule from 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., and you should be prepared to stand for most of the shift while performing assembly, testing, and packaging work.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hanover Park, IL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $17.50 - $17.50/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
