Maintenance Mechanic

Perform mechanical repairs and preventive maintenance on conveyor systems and associated production equipment.

Troubleshoot conveyor systems quickly and accurately to minimize downtime.

Inspect, repair, and replace mechanical components such as chains, sprockets, gears, bearings, and drive shafts.

Work on timing systems, ensuring accurate setup, adjustment, and synchronization of mechanical components.

Support electrical troubleshooting, including working with PLC-controlled systems, relays, sensors, photo eyes, and pumps.

Perform routine checks and adjustments on ovens, slicers, coolers, and packaging machines as needed.

Replace low-voltage components such as sensors, relays, and photo eyes to maintain reliable equipment operation.

Collaborate with other technicians and the lead technician on each shift to prioritize and complete maintenance tasks.

Document maintenance activities, repairs, and parts usage accurately and in a timely manner.

Identify recurring issues and suggest improvements to preventive maintenance practices.

Maintain a clean and organized work area while working in an environment where flour and other ingredients are present.

Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience in mechanical repair and maintenance.

Proven ability to troubleshoot conveyor systems and quickly identify mechanical issues.

Experience working with mechanical components including chains, sprockets, gears, bearings, and drive shafts.

Ability to perform preventive maintenance on mechanical equipment in a production environment.

Basic electrical troubleshooting skills, including working with PLC-controlled equipment, relays, sensors, and photo eyes.

Comfort working with electrical systems at 480V and 24V while following safety procedures.

Ability to understand and work with timing systems on mechanical equipment.

Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a small team.

Willingness to work under a lead technician and coordinate with other technicians on the shift.

Experience working with ovens, slicers, coolers, and packaging machines is beneficial.

Familiarity with replacing low-voltage components such as sensors, relays, and photo eyes.

Comfort working in an environment where equipment and components may require frequent adjustment and replacement.

Ability to adapt to a laid-back yet production-focused team environment.

You will work alongside a small group of technicians on each shift under the guidance of a lead technician. The environment includes bakery operations with equipment such as ovens, slicers, coolers, packaging machines, and multiple conveyor systems. While the space is generally clean and organized, you can expect to get slightly dirty due to flour and other mixing ingredients present in the production area.

This is a Permanent position based out of Sidney, OH.

The pay range for this position is $66996.00 - $75587.00/yr.
