Advanced Lpn Clinic Float | Licensed Practical Nurse

Join a dedicated healthcare team in a regional medical office serving the Midwest community. This role supports physicians and mid-level providers by delivering patient assessments, treatments, testing, and education in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Adhere to clinic policies ensuring patient safety, including infection control and safe patient handling.
• Administer medications via oral, intramuscular, and subcutaneous routes as prescribed.
• Assist providers during procedures, maintaining sterile fields and managing instruments.
• Support examinations within the scope of licensure and perform phone triage.
• Serve as a liaison between patients and providers, communicating test results and answering patient inquiries.
• Document patient complaints and visit details accurately according to provider preferences.
• Escort patients to exam rooms and obtain vital signs and measurements.
• Manage medication lists and summaries, perform point-of-care lab testing, and collect specimens as ordered.
• Educate patients on electronic health record tools and provide supportive teaching as needed.
• Schedule diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, including obtaining necessary authorizations.
• Train new LPNs and medical assistants in clinic protocols.
• Demonstrate accountability, teamwork, and professionalism while managing multiple tasks efficiently.

Education

Graduate of an accredited LPN program with completion of an approved IV therapy course.

Experience

Previous nursing or healthcare experience is preferred but not mandatory.

Certifications and Licenses

Current LPN license valid in the state of Missouri and American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification required.

Physical and Mental Requirements

This position requires considerable mental focus, frequent walking, lifting up to 35 pounds, and various physical movements such as standing, turning, pushing, pulling, stooping, crouching, twisting, and reaching.

Working Conditions

Exposure to infectious diseases and occasional encounters with hostile individuals may occur. The role involves handling communicable diseases through blood and other body fluids with minimal physical discomfort.
