Calibration Technician

SUMMARY: Performs a variety of activities involved in the comparison of measurement devices of unknown accuracy to a measurement device of known accuracy to detect, correlate, and report any variations in the accuracy of the device being compared. Maintains a high degree of quality, meets quantity targets while following standards and procedures. Must work individually and as part of a team as required to achieve production, quality, and quantity goals. Performing repetitive work is essential.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Perform the operation of calibration using hydraulic or dead weight equipment.
• Assemble bases to load cells and install in test equipment.
• Review travelers for proper calibration testing.
• Print out of unit labels and certificates of calibration.
• Must be able to follow and complete various assembly operations.
• Should be able to set and use various torque wrenches.
• Should be able to work with computers.
• Work collaboratively in a team environment to complete discrete tasks
• Able to use fine motor skills to calibrate product
• Able to work with precision and follow standardized, existing procedures
• Able to work with a wide variety of hand and power tools
• Completes paperwork and moves work onto the next stage of production in a completed, accurate state
• Offers suggestions and improvements as they see them
• Releases all test data to the computer database

REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

• High school or GED equivalent
• Calibration preferred but not required, training available if needed
• Mechanical/technical skills needed
• Reading and verbal English communication skills

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This position will be in a production shop with heavy machinery.
