Job Description

Job Description

Are you seeking a rewarding and challenging career in community-focused Pediatric Hospitalist Medicine?

Our organization, situated in the picturesque state of Maine, is on the lookout for a passionate physician who is either board certified or board eligible in pediatrics. Become a vital member of our energetic Pediatric Hospitalist team, delivering care for newborns (including well-newborns, Level II NICU cases, and attending deliveries), pediatric inpatients, and emergency department consultations at our advanced facility in Augusta, Maine.

Applicants should be particularly adept at neonatal resuscitation, caring for newborns, and stabilizing critically ill infants while awaiting transfer to a specialized care center.

Position Highlights:
  • You will collaborate with a well-established team of pediatric and adult hospitalists dedicated to providing contemporary, evidence-based care to our community, alongside quality education for our medical trainees.
  • Shifts of 12 or 24 hours are available.
  • Each shift allows for independent care, with in-house support from obstetricians, midwives, anesthesiologists, emergency medicine, and family practice physicians; pediatric subspecialty, NICU, and PICU support can be accessed via phone from the state's two children's hospitals (the nearest facility is one hour away by ground).
  • Teaching duties involve mentoring 1-2 learners (family medicine residents and medical students) during weekdays.
  • The average daily patient census is between 4-6.

Along with joining a flourishing practice and enjoying traditional employment benefits, you will also receive the following:

Generous Time Off: We value the significance of rest and rejuvenation. Our organization offers ample time away, ensuring you have the opportunity to recharge and maintain a healthy work-life balance.

Continuing Medical Education (CME): Your professional growth is important to us. We provide additional CME time and resources to help you enhance your skills and remain at the forefront of medical innovations.

Educational Loan Assistance Program: We recognize the financial challenges associated with education and are dedicated to supporting your career path with a substantial educational loan assistance benefit.

At our organization, we take pride in fostering an outstanding work environment that enables our teams to excel. By joining us, you will become an essential part of a team devoted to delivering quality, compassionate patient care.
