Responsibilities include:

• Reading and interpreting installation specifications for various construction projects
• Determining floor plan layouts, power distribution, backup power supplies, and cabling of central office equipment
• Designing, identifying, and requisitioning parts necessary to establish low- and high-level racking, transmission racking, power racking, aisle lighting, and provision for grounding
• Creating comprehensive and accurate installation specifications and equipment requirements to fulfill customer orders
• Creating or correcting location records, drawings, bill of materials (BOM), installation notes, and memos to reflect additions and modifications to customers' location (central office) as a result of installation or engineering activities
• Possessing familiarity with specifications and drawings required to assemble and integrate telco transmission equipment into a Central Office environment
• Utilizing hand tools required for the installation of transmission equipment, including crimpers, wire wrap guns, strippers, wrenches, hammers, drills, stencils, etc.
• Acting in a supervisory manner and providing guidance to lower-level installers on individual job progress, material shortages, customer complaints, and unsafe or inoperable tools
• Maintaining and providing accurate departmental paperwork as requested
• Knowing all safety and security requirements and following them implicitly; assisting in maintaining a safe and hazard-free work area
• Dressing appropriately for the job environment
• Being proficient in all phases of installation and testing of equipment to provide for progression in the business

Qualifications include:

• High school diploma or GED and electronics training equivalent to 2 years of technical trade school, or equivalent as determined by the Installation Manager
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Level II Central Office Installer
• Ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel, and work within company-provided databases to update job statuses
• Ability to lift tools and equipment as needed (minimum 10 lbs)
• Excellent communication skills, time management, dependability
