Production Maintenance Mechanic - 2nd Shift

Job Details Location: Walbridge, OH 43465 Position Type: Full Time Education Level: Equivalent Work Experience Salary Range: $33.00 Hourly ($0.75 shift premium for 2nd Shift) Shift: 2nd Shift – 2:30pm to 10:30pm, Monday to Friday Travel: None Job Category: Manufacturing – Mechanic Responsibilities Troubleshoot, repair, and fabricate machinery in a timely, safe, and accurate manner while minimizing impact on production. Perform skilled fitting and alignment using precision measuring instruments. Maintain machines and support equipment, including preventive maintenance. Work from drawings, specifications, and job layouts. Install, assemble, move, or disassemble machinery and related equipment. Inspect and measure parts to detect wear, misalignment, or other issues. Remove and replace worn or defective parts of drive mechanisms or hydraulic systems. Find and order parts as needed. Perform duties such as welding, millwright, pneumatics, hydraulics, vacuum mechanical systems, plumbing repair or installation, metalworking, and janitorial tasks as instructed. Associate degree or equivalent from a two‑year college or technical school; or a minimum of three years related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Expert mechanical ability, analysis, and troubleshooting skills within a production and/or manufacturing environment. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Effective communication with employees at all levels. Basic arithmetic skills; ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure. Proficiency in reading and interpreting ruler measurements. Physical ability to walk, stand, and stand frequently during an eight‑hour shift. Ability to lift up to 50lbs during occasional tasks. Essential Physical & Environmental Functions Stand and walk on concrete surfaces for the duration of a scheduled shift (8–12hours). Frequently bend, reach, crouch, or stoop. Lifting: Raise up to 20lbs frequently and up to 50lbs occasionally from floor to waist and waist to shoulder. Manual dexterity: Constant repetitive grasping and fine‑motor manipulation of paper materials and machine components. Range of motion: Frequent twisting of the torso and lifting above shoulder height. Vision: Near and far visual acuity, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus for quality control and safe machine operation. Work environment: Perform these functions in a manufacturing environment that may include high noise levels, varying temperatures, and paper dust.
