TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified Labor/Delivery RN in Chandler, Arizona, 85224!

Job Title: Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse Profession: RN (Registered Nurse) Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 4 years of experience required License: Valid nursing license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP Must-Have: Experience with C-sections Computer charting experience, preferably in Cerner Description: Travelers are required to pass a dysrhythmia exam prior to accepting an offer. They must pass with a score of 80%. If they fail, they will be unable to work for 6 months. Travelers will take a pass/fail simulation lab on the first day of orientation. Study guides will be provided. The unit has 18 LDRP beds, 14 OB triage beds, and 8 antepartum beds. Average deliveries are 8-10 per day, totaling 322-344 per month. There are 2 fully equipped operating rooms for C-sections. The unit attempts to follow guidelines for nurse-to-patient ratios. Assignments are made to ensure safe staffing. Nurse-to-patient ratios are typically 2:1, with antepartum being 4:1 and C-sections 1:1. Electronic medical records are managed using Cerner. Fetal monitoring is done with a specific system. Charge nursing staff consists of 13 nurses. No nurse aides are available. Weekend shifts include 4 shifts per schedule. Call or standby is voluntary. Holidays require additional coverage if available. Scrub color is blue. There is no telemedicine on the unit. Patients are transferred to postpartum after delivery. Travelers must confidently circulate and recover C-sections. The facility has a trauma designation and accepts patients with gestations 28 weeks and greater. Cancellation policy allows for up to 4 shifts to be canceled per assignment. Charting system is Cerner.
