Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day 3x12-Hour Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2 years License: Compact License Required Certifications: BLS, FHM, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate, ACLS (preferred) Must-Have: Epic Experience Required Description: This position is for a Registered Nurse specializing in Labor and Delivery. Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of experience. Epic experience is required. Certified candidates must have current certifications including BLS, FHM, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate. ACLS certification is preferred. The Registered Nurse will manage patient diagnoses related to labor and preterm labor. This unit includes 8 labor rooms and 4 triage rooms. Responsibilities will include circulating, performing OB-GYN duties, and providing care during post-op and pre-op. The role will involve working with low-risk antepartum and low-risk labor delivery. The nurse will administer blood products, perform cardioversion/defibrillation, and manage cooling/warming blankets. Other duties may include managing drains, epidural pumps, PCA pumps, and syringe pumps. The nurse will attend all deliveries including high-risk deliveries, GYN surgeries, couplet care, low-risk antepartum, and transition nursery. There will be a staffing ratio of 1:1-3 for patient management. Floating to post-partum and NICU may be required based on skill set. References covering 1 year within the last 3 years are required during the compliance process prior to starting.
