We'd love to hear from you.Job DescriptionFulfil is hiring a Staff Electrical Engineer to join us at a fast-paced startup in a multi-disciplinary engineering team. In this role, you will own the design of PCBAs for our proprietary industrial automation equipment in accordance with industry standards, best practices, and requirements. This role offers ample growth opportunities while working side-by-side with cross functional engineering teams of Mechanical, Systems, SW/FW, and Operations to bring our innovative and exciting new technology to reality.In This Role You WillOwn challenging electrical design projects in industrial automation and roboticsOwn the PCBA design process from gathering requirements through design, prototyping, and validationDocument design concepts, trade studies, test procedures, and applicable assembly instructionsWork with a cross functional team (mechatronics, systems, software, firmware, and operations teams) to design robust electrical systemsWork with contract manufacturers to ensure efficient manufacturing and high quality products.Design for compliance with UL, ISO, IEC, and NFPA standardsTest new designs on the bench and in-system to ensure function and performanceLead teams in safety and standards compliant work with electronics, training others to work using safe practices and proceduresImpact the company's overall performance by contributing to a positive work culture, encouraging good engineering practices, and helping to create and improve robust engineering workflows and processesWhat We're Looking ForBS, MS, or PhD in Electrical Engineering or equivalentStrong electrical engineering fundamentals8+ years of professional work experienceExpert in analog and digital circuit design, high speed design, and components selectionProven experience designing for electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), with a focus on radiated emissions complianceExperience with electro-mechanical integration of PCBAs, including designs with heatsinked componentsExperience implementing self-test features and defining production test processesExperience with industrial communications protocols (CAN, Ethernet, RS485, SPI, etc.)Familiarity with automation and control equipment (motor control, PLCs, sensors, etc.)Expert in schematic capture and layout for PCBsExpert in PCBA design validation, troubleshooting, and root cause analysisProficient in PCBA development tools such as Altium or CadenceProficient in utilizing common electrical lab equipment (signal generators, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, power supplies, etc.)Strong communication skills (verbal and written)Ability to travel 25% of the timeWhat We'd Love To See10+ years of professional work experiencePrior experience working in a fast-paced startup environmentFamiliarity with IEC 61508 and ISO 13849, designing for functional safetyAdvanced proficiency with Altium DesignerFamiliarity with PLC families and architecturesExperience with robotics, motors, and other electromechanical componentsExperience with high volume PCBA design and manufacturing, board level component selection, bring-up, and testNot afraid of robotsWhat You GetA chance to be an early team member and leader of a rapidly growing startup and have an impact on company and technology directionThe ability to solve challenging problems with a skilled, dedicated and friendly multi-disciplinary teamA balanced, highly collaborative work environmentA hybrid work structureCompetitive medical, dental, and vision coverage, with 401K, life and disability coverageA PTO policy that encourages and expects employees to take time to enjoy life outside of workThe salary range for this position is $164,000 - $212,000 plus stock and benefits.
