Music Association of Minnetonka Position: Engagement Manager About The Organization The Music Association of Minnetonka (MAM) is a nonprofit community music organization dedicated to offering diverse musical experiences that spark imagination, nurture artistic growth, uplift audiences, and enrich the soul of our community. Through its instrumental and choral ensembles serving youth, adults, and seniors, MAM provides meaningful opportunities for participation, performance, education, and community engagement throughout the west metro. Position Overview The MAM Engagement Manager is one of three part‑time staff members supporting MAM's Board of Directors, ensembles, members, volunteers, and community stakeholders. Working collaboratively with the Business Manager, Administrative Manager, Board leadership, and ensemble leaders, this role serves as MAM's lead resource for member engagement, volunteer engagement, community engagement activities, and organizational asset coordination. The position helps foster meaningful connections among MAM's members, volunteers, audiences, patrons, donors, and community partners while strengthening participation, belonging, and community impact. The position typically works approximately 6–9 hours per week, with some seasonal variation. Reports to: President, MAM Board of Directors Key Responsibilities Membership & Volunteer Engagement Serve as the primary point of contact for prospective members and volunteers, responding to inquiries and helping connect individuals with meaningful opportunities to engage with MAM. Coordinate placement of prospective musicians into appropriate ensembles in partnership with ensemble leadership. Develop and implement strategies to recruit, engage, onboard, and retain members and volunteers across the organization. Maintain membership and volunteer records and support engagement‑related communications. Coordinate volunteer recruitment, placement, recognition, and appreciation activities. Monitor participation trends and recommend initiatives that strengthen engagement, belonging, and retention. Develop and administer patron, subscriber, donor, or community membership programs that support deeper engagement with MAM. Community Engagement Events Plan and coordinate logistics for MAM-sponsored community engagement activities, member events, volunteer events, fundraising events, annual meetings, and related organizational gatherings. Serve as lead coordinator for event logistics, including registrations, volunteers, vendors, facilities, supplies, and event operations. Provide onsite support for organizational events and activities as needed. Evaluate event outcomes and recommend improvements to increase participation, engagement, and organizational impact. Collaborate with Board members, staff, ensemble leaders, volunteers, sponsors, and community partners to ensure successful event execution. Assets & Operational Support Serve as the primary point of contact for MAM-owned equipment and organizational assets, including instruments, pianos, concert equipment, signage, and other physical resources. Coordinate requests for use of organizational assets and facilities. Maintain inventory records and support asset management, storage, maintenance, and utilization practices. Support logistical needs associated with concerts, performances, rehearsals, and organizational activities. Assist with special projects and other initiatives that advance member engagement, volunteer engagement, and community connection. Qualifications Required Qualifications Experience in membership engagement, volunteer management, event coordination, community outreach, nonprofit administration, or a related field. Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders. Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated ability to build relationships and create positive experiences for members, volunteers, patrons, donors, and community partners. Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and collaborate effectively with staff, Board members, ensemble leaders, and volunteers. Proficiency with common office software, databases, CRM systems, membership management platforms, event registration systems, or similar tools. Ability to occasionally work evenings and weekends in support of rehearsals, performances, events, and organizational activities. Preferred Qualifications Experience working with nonprofit, arts, educational, community-based, or membership-driven organizations. Experience developing membership, volunteer, donor, patron, or community engagement programs. Experience coordinating fundraising events, community events, or volunteer‑led initiatives. Familiarity with CRM systems, volunteer management tools, event registration platforms, or related technology solutions. Passion for music, arts education, community engagement, and the performing arts. Location and Travel This position is primarily remote, with occasional meetings and office hours in Minnetonka, Minnesota. Some local travel within the Twin Cities metropolitan area may be required to support rehearsals, performances, events, meetings, and organizational activities. Compensation Range is $25–$28 per hour, depending on experience. This is a part‑time position with a flexible schedule.
