Equipment Operator

The City of Waterville Department of Public Works is accepting applications for an experienced Equipment Operator. Qualified applicants should have a background in equipment operation, particularly trucks up to 64,000 GVW, bucket loader, street sweeper, light excavator and other specialized equipment. A general knowledge and understanding of Public Works operations is preferred.
High school diploma, valid State of Maine Class B - CDL required, and ability to perform work in all types of inclement weather required. The successful candidate must live within 30 road mile radius of Public Works facility. Previous experience in construction and equipment operations preferred. Starting pay for an equipment operator is $23.72 per hour (apprentice equipment operator rate). The pay range for an apprentice equipment operator per union contract is $23.72 - $30.30 per hour based on years of service with the City of Waterville. Please note, equipment operators are paid the apprentice equipment operator rate until they are fully certified on all applicable equipment.
