Assistant Controller

Interim Assistant Controller Our client, a technology and manufacturing company, is seeking an Interim Assistant Controller to provide accounting leadership during a temporary leave coverage period. This position is on-site in Fremont, CA. This engagement is expected to last 3 months. Responsibilities Lead the monthly and quarterly close processes, ensuring timely completion of journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and supporting schedules Review account reconciliations, financial results, and variance analyses to ensure accuracy and completeness Support the preparation and review of financial reporting packages and management reporting deliverables Partner with internal stakeholders to resolve accounting issues and support ongoing business operations Assist with compliance activities, internal controls, audit support, and documentation requirements Coordinate tax-related schedules and support requests from external service providers as needed Identify and implement process improvements to strengthen accounting operations and reporting efficiency Provide leadership, mentorship, and technical accounting support to members of the accounting team Requirements Significant progressive accounting experience, including ownership of month-end and quarter-end close processes Prior experience as an Assistant Controller, Controller, Accounting Manager, Accounting Director, or similar accounting leadership role Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, financial reporting, internal controls, and accounting operations Demonstrated experience reviewing reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, and financial statements Strong leadership, organizational, and cross-functional communication skills; CPA preferred Compensation Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco by Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors, including but not limited to the individual’s skill sets, experience, and training; licensure and certifications; office location and other geographic considerations; and other business and organizational needs.
