Overall Job Summary The Team Member is responsible for interacting with customers and team members, supporting selling initiatives and performing assigned tasks, while delivering a Legendary Customer Experience. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Maintain regular and predictable attendance. Work scheduled shifts and be available for varied hours, days, nights, weekends, and overtime as dictated by business needs. Deliver legendary customer service using the GURA model: Greet the customer. Uncover customer’s needs and wants. Recommend product solutions. Ask to add value and appreciate the customer. Perform a combination of the following duties for 95% of the workday, accurately, efficiently, and safely: Operate cash register/computer following cash handling procedures. Recover merchandise. Participate in mandatory freight process. Complete plan‑ogram procedures (merchandising, sets, and resets). Assemble merchandise. Perform janitorial duties. Execute price changes/markdowns. Operate forklift (if 18 or older). Operate cardboard baler (if 18 or older). Assist customers with loading purchases. Ensure the customer has a legendary shopping experience that differentiates from the competition. Sanitize and maintain poultry holding tanks and care for birds as required. Complete all documentation associated with any of the above job duties. Team Members may also be required to perform other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications No experience required. Retail experience and/or farming, ranching, pet/equine, or welding knowledge is strongly preferred. High school diploma or equivalent is preferred, but any education level is acceptable provided the candidate can read, write, and count accurately. Preferred Knowledge, Skills or Abilities Farming, ranching, pet/equine, or welding knowledge is strongly preferred. Ability to read, write, and count accurately. Strong communication and problem‑solving skills. Basic computer skills. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to resolve issues ethically and with minimal conflict. Working Conditions Environment generally inside with moderate noise and hard surfaces (concrete, asphalt, etc.). Lighting and temperature are adequate. Shift lengths vary but are not less than 4 hours and may exceed 8 hours. Promote a safe and productive work environment for Team Members and customers and adhere to Company safety training and guidelines. Physical Requirements Move and transfer merchandise up to 50 pounds; push and pull up to 2,000 pounds with proper equipment. Lift or reach merchandise overhead occasionally. Stand, kneel, twist, crouch, squat, bend, stoop, and climb ladders frequently. Move throughout the store for an entire shift. Safely access all store areas (selling floor, side lot, stock area, register area). Operate and use all necessary equipment: dolly, hand truck, forklift, baler, computer, cash register (forklift and baler not required if under 18). Operate store equipment such as computer and cash register continuously. Read, write, and count accurately for documentation. Use strong written and verbal communication skills to communicate with team members. Process information/merchandise through the point‑of‑sale system. Handle and be in contact with birds/poultry. Complete all required training successfully. Complete training and certification to dispense propane (not required if under 18).
