Responsibilities Inspire and Educate: Create an engaging and inclusive learning environment where students can flourish, fostering their passion for aviation maintenance while imparting your expert knowledge. Hands‑On Training: Lead by example and provide practical demonstrations, ensuring students gain real‑world experience in diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing aircraft systems. Curriculum Development: Collaborate with our education team to enhance existing courses and develop new ones that align with industry trends and advancements. Mentorship: Guide and mentor students on their individual projects, encouraging them to think critically and find innovative solutions. Safety First: Instill the importance of safety procedures and best practices to ensure a secure working environment for students. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required. NCCER Certified Instructor, associate or bachelor's degree in a related field is a plus. Minimum of four years journeyman or licensed technician‑level experience in the crafts taught, or three years as a certified teacher in a vocational/technical construction or maintenance‑related training program in the specific crafts. Expertise in one or more of the following specialties: Fire Alarm/Fire Detection Security/CCTV/Surveillance Access Controls/PLCs Electrical Industry (Residential, Commercial, or Industrial) Nurse Call Systems Telecommunication and Fiber Optics Wind/Solar Industries Building Automation Network & Information Technologies Ability to instruct students of various ages and diverse backgrounds. Strong oral and written communication skills. Excellent customer service skills. Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel. Ability to handle confidential information responsibly. Self‑motivated, energetic, and personable with a customer‑service orientation. Can work independently or as part of a team. Must be able to instruct two consecutive courses per workday; the number of hours will vary by campus location and program. Physical requirements: lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds for short periods; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl for short periods; sit and walk or otherwise move around for prolonged periods; use a keyboard and perform manual tasks for prolonged periods; use various technologies such as computers, projectors, and tablets. Strong problem‑solving and decision‑making skills. Maintains confidentiality and manages sensitive information with discretion. Works effectively in a fast‑paced environment with multiple simultaneous projects. Understanding of information and data as it relates to essential job functions. Builds long‑term relationships with stakeholders. Education/classroom setting involves approximately 75% lecture or classroom instruction and 25% laboratory or hands‑on classes. Uses personal protective equipment as required by campus safety policies. Follows campus and site‑specific safety procedures.
