Dawson County Health Department is seeking a part time Registered Nurse 2. As a PH Registered Nurse with Dawson County Health at the Georgia Department of Public Health - District 2, you will join a dedicated group of public health professionals that help support the overall mission and vision of protecting lives of Georgian residents in a variety of ways. Benefits will NOT be included within this position: 40-hour work week (Monday Friday), 13 paid holidays/yr., 3 weeks each of annual & sick leave/yr., a defined benefit retirement plan including a 401(K) plan with a matching employer contribution, health and payroll deductible flexible benefits including employee, spouse and child life, AD&D, dental, vision, legal, long term care, short and long-term disability and specified illness options are available. Also, medical/childcare spending accounts can be established in addition to deferred compensation 457.

Job Responsibilities

Under general supervision, provides professional nursing care in accordance with nurse protocols, policies and/or procedures. Focuses on the prevention of illness, injury or disability, the promotion of health and maintenance of the health of populations. Cares for population with special needs during disasters/emergencies and biological and chemical protocols. Additional Duties:

• Knows vaccine schedules for children and adults
• Gives correct needed vaccines to children and adults
• Gives vaccines needed for school attendance along with correct certifications
• Conducts audits for school and day cares
• Conducts scoliosis screenings for schools
• Conducts hearing/vision/dental screenings needed for school attendance
• Cross-trains to TB, Child Health, Family Planning and IDC clinics
• Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university AND Current Georgia license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse AND CPR certification OR Associate's degree/diploma in Nursing from an accredited college AND One year of PHN experience AND Completion of a PHN course within one year of hire AND Current Georgia Registered Professional Nurse license AND CPR certification. Preferred Qualifications:

• Ability to communicate effectively with corporate clients

• Ability to complete tasks without detailed supervision
• Excellent computer skills
• Experience vaccinating all age groups
• Ability to read, write and speak Spanish
