As a senior software engineer at Liberty Mutual, you'll apply your talents in an agile environment that has the creative energy of a start-up—and the full backing and comprehensive benefits of a Fortune 100 company.Responsibilities:Collaborative partner: Working with our I Buy I Sell – Third Party Integrations team of product owners and fellow engineers, you'll tackle technical challenges and ensure quality as we build technologies to meet customers and partners where they are.Comprehensive problem-solver: As you manage the end-to-end development of software products, you'll analyze issues at the system level and handle any complications that arise by implementing effective solutionsSkilled technical engineer: You'll document and lead the implementation of technical features, improvements and innovationsForward thinker: Simply fixing the problem isn't enough; using your proactive mindset and initiative, you'll continually look for ways to improve performance, quality and efficiencyThis position emphasizes full-stack development skillsets with technologies including:Proficiency in software engineering languages and tools, including one or more of Javascript, Typescript, Node.JS, Java, SpringBoot, RESTful services, XML transformation, service orchestration and AWS Cloud implementations.Experience with building AWS Cloud Native componentsExperience with designing scalable APIs, including familiarity with the OpenAPI InitiativeHighly qualified candidates:Working knowledge of ACORD standards (XML or Next Gen Digital Standards)Experience with C#/.NETQualificationsA minimum of five years of software engineering experienceA background in business operations and strategies, with a focus on business ITA history of translating client requirements into technical designsAgile engineering capabilities and a design-thinking mindsetCollaboration, adaptability, flexibility, and the ability to manage time and prioritize work with a globally distributed development teamStrong oral and written communication skills — and a knack for explaining your decision-making process to non-engineersA thorough grasp of IT concepts, business operations, design and development tools, system architecture and technical standards, shared software concepts and layered solutions and designsProficiency in software engineering languages and tools, including Java and RESTful services, spanning horizontal and vertical packagesAn understanding of how modifications affect different parts of a system and an ability to explain your decision-making process to non-engineersA Bachelor's or Master's degree in a technical or business discipline, or equivalent experienceAbout UsThe typical starting salary range for this role is determined by a number of factors including skills, experience, education, certifications and location. The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role.
