Job Description Job Description Associate Veterinarian – Specialty Diagnostic Medicine Spring, TX | Full-Time | $100,000–$150,000 + Performance Incentives | Relocation Assistance
Are you ready for something different from traditional general practice?
This is an opportunity for an Associate Veterinarian to transition into specialty diagnostic medicine and advanced imaging while receiving hands-on training and mentorship from experienced veterinary specialists.
You do not need previous advanced imaging experience . Veterinarians coming from general practice, emergency medicine, specialty medicine, or other clinical environments are encouraged to apply.
Rather than managing a traditional appointment schedule, you'll work with advanced diagnostic cases, collaborate with board-certified specialists and referring veterinarians, and develop expertise across sophisticated imaging technologies.

Responsibilities include:
Perform patient examinations and diagnostic assessments
Develop diagnostic and treatment plans in collaboration with referring veterinarians and specialists
Provide and oversee anesthesia and sedation for diagnostic procedures
Monitor patients throughout imaging procedures and recovery
Review laboratory findings and pre-anesthetic evaluations
Collaborate with specialists to optimize diagnostic studies and patient outcomes
Communicate findings and recommendations to referring veterinarians and clients
Maintain high standards for patient safety, medical quality, and documentation
Help coordinate doctor workflow, patient flow, and imaging schedules
Support and mentor veterinary interns
Participate in continued clinical education and professional development
Advanced Technology You'll have the opportunity to work with sophisticated diagnostic technology, including:
3T MRI
128-slice CT
Advanced ultrasound
Digital radiography
Digital cytology
Advanced image-guided diagnostic procedures
Training Provided Advanced imaging experience is not required.
A structured onboarding and training program will help you transition into specialty diagnostic medicine through hands-on mentorship and progressive clinical responsibility.
Training includes advanced imaging workflows, MRI and CT case management, specialty anesthesia and sedation protocols, image-guided procedures, referral medicine, and collaborative case management with board-certified specialists.
Who We're Looking For Required:
DVM or equivalent
Eligible for veterinary licensure in Texas
Clinical experience in general practice, emergency, specialty, or another fast-paced veterinary environment
Strong patient assessment and medical decision-making skills
Comfort with anesthesia and sedation
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Collaborative, team-oriented approach
Interest in continued learning and professional development
Preferred but not required:
3+ years of veterinary clinical experience
Advanced imaging or referral medicine exposure
Experience mentoring interns, veterinary students, or associates
Interest in leadership, education, or practice development
Why Consider This Opportunity? This is particularly attractive for a veterinarian who enjoys the medicine and diagnostic side of practice but is ready for something different from a traditional GP environment.
You'll have the opportunity to:
Develop expertise in advanced diagnostic imaging
Work directly with board-certified specialists
Manage complex and interesting referral cases
Practice in a collaborative rather than production-driven environment
Receive extensive training and mentorship
Mentor veterinary interns
Develop future leadership skills
Grow professionally without needing to arrive with specialty imaging experience
