Life doesn’t always follow a fixed schedule. That’s why we created the Security Officer – Part Time Enhanced position: a flexible, dependable option for individuals looking to supplement their income, gain hands-on experience, or work toward a full-time career with the industry leader.

As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Armed Watch in Jacksonville, FL , this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $18.25 / Hour

11:00 PM - 07:00 AM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to employees, contractors, visitors, and/or vendors by carrying out site-specific procedures, access protocols, and customer instructions at a utilities location.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and report observations and actions according to site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout the location, including operational areas, buildings, parking areas, and perimeter points, noting unusual activity and/or security-related concerns.
• Monitor entry and exit activity, verify credentials and/or authorizations as required, and help to deter unauthorized access to restricted or sensitive areas.
• Support emergency response activities by communicating with site contacts, public responders, and/or Allied Universal leadership, while documenting incidents, patrol activity, and security-related findings in a timely manner.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess at least 1 year of armed security-related, law enforcement, or military experience.
• Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED as required by the client.
• Be comfortable using a computer or tablet preferred.
• Have customer service experience preferred.
• Have access control and badge experience preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
