Job Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Human Resources Specialist to join our dynamic team. This role is pivotal in managing a broad spectrum of HR functions, including talent acquisition, employee relations, compliance, and workforce management. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of human resources practices and demonstrate the ability to implement strategic initiatives that enhance organizational effectiveness. This is a 3 month assignment running 7/20-10/20
Monday-Friday 8AM-5PM
Pay $35-$40/hour
Responsibilities
- Lead talent acquisition efforts by sourcing candidates through various channels, conducting interviews, and managing the onboarding process to ensure a seamless employee orientation experience.
- Administer employee evaluations, performance management programs, and career development initiatives aligned with organizational goals.
- Oversee benefits administration, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other employee perks, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations.
- Manage HR information systems (HRIS) such as Workday or SAP SuccessFactors for data collection, reporting, and personnel administration.
- Ensure regulatory compliance by maintaining knowledge of employment law, FMLA regulations, OSHA standards, and affirmative action planning requirements.
- Facilitate change management processes and support organizational design initiatives to optimize workforce structure.
- Handle confidential information with integrity while managing employee relations issues and resolving conflicts effectively.
- Support project management activities related to HR initiatives such as succession planning, training & development programs, and HR legal compliance audits.
- Conduct data analysis using Excel or similar tools for HR metrics tracking and reporting purposes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on HR sourcing strategies and workforce management projects.
Skills
- Extensive experience in human resources management with a strong understanding of employment & labor law and HR legal compliance standards.
- Proficiency in HR systems such as Workday, Oracle HCM, UltiPro, or similar platforms; familiarity with ATS (Applicant Tracking Systems) like iCIMS or Lever is advantageous.
- Demonstrated expertise in talent management strategies including succession planning and performance management processes.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to coordinate multiple initiatives simultaneously.
- Excellent communication skills for effective employee relations, training delivery, and stakeholder engagement.
- Knowledge of benefits administration processes and payroll processing systems such as ADP or Paychex.
- Ability to analyze data effectively using Excel data analysis techniques for decision-making support.
- Familiarity with organizational design principles and workforce management best practices.
- Adept at handling confidential information responsibly while maintaining professionalism across diverse audiences.
- Experience in conflict management and negotiation within a fast-paced environment.
