This temporary assignment will last for the 2026-2027 school year. We seek culturally responsive candidates who are invested in the achievement, equity, and access of multilingual learners in and beyond the classroom. The ESL Tutor works collaboratively with the team teachers and the building ESL teacher(s) to support language development and content learning for students identified as English learners. This is an in-person, para-educator position working 30 hours per week. The current rate for this position is $26.61 - $31.49 per hour, based on experience. Candidates with diverse racial, cultural, religious, class, and/or gender background and experiences are strongly encouraged to apply. Responsibilities Supporting language development and literacy skills through small group instruction Reinforcing classroom instruction Re-teaching skills Assisting content teachers to modify and differentiate instruction for EL students Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree or above, or equivalent work/military experience Exhibits the values of Shrewsbury Public Schools Works flexibly and collaboratively in a changing environment Experience working with middle school multilingual learners with diverse backgrounds and experiences Job Requirements Bachelor degree preferred.
