This role will lead the design and review of mechanical systems for large-scale industrial facilities, ensuring projects meet technical standards, regulatory requirements, and client expectations.The ideal candidate brings extensive experience in mechanical system design for industrial environments, including HVAC, plumbing, and piping systems. This individual will collaborate closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams to develop high-quality designs while supporting project planning efforts such as cost estimation, scheduling coordination, and technical oversight during construction. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to complex industrial projects while helping guide engineering excellence within the design team.What You'll DoLead the design and review of mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and industrial piping systems for large industrial facilitiesDevelop and review construction documents, including mechanical drawings, specifications, and engineering calculationsUtilize design tools such as Revit, AutoCAD, and BIM platforms to produce coordinated and accurate engineering designsPerform and review mechanical design calculations to ensure systems meet performance requirements, codes, and industry standardsConduct site observations and field assessments to verify construction progress and resolve design or installation challengesReview shop drawings and contractor submittals to confirm compliance with project specifications and design intentProvide construction administration support, including responding to RFIs and assisting with technical coordination during constructionAssist with project controls support, including coordination related to cost estimates, scheduling, and project planning activitiesCollaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered on schedule and within scopeSupport internal quality standards and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and design staffQualificationsBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology from an accredited universityProfessional Engineer (PE) license required, with an active NCEES record preferred10+ years of experience in mechanical system design for industrial or large commercial building projectsStrong technical knowledge of HVAC systems, plumbing systems, and industrial piping designProficiency with industry design tools including Revit, AutoCAD, and BIM platformsDemonstrated experience preparing construction documents, specifications, and engineering calculationsExperience supporting construction administration, including site visits, shop drawing review, and technical coordination with contractorsStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to address complex engineering challengesExcellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary project teamsSkills & CompetenciesStrong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to address complex engineering challengesExcellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary project teamsAbility to manage multiple priorities while maintaining strong organizational skills and attention to detailSelf-motivated with a commitment to producing high-quality engineering workPositive attitude and ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environmentBenefitsCompetitive compensation based on experience (DOE)Per diem and travel allowance (if applicable)Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance401(k) retirement planOpportunity to support upcoming projects and grow with our expanding project portfolio
