Several educational institutions also are nearby, including a Northern Arizona University satellite campus, Eastern Arizona College, and the Gila Institute for Technology.What You Will DoResponsible for performing inspections to maximize equipment and tire life and executes assignments from computerized dispatch system and/or two-way radioReceives training, mentoring, and feedback from other operators, supervisors, and equipment trainersResponsible for understanding changes to assigned work areas and any potential hazardsResponsible for knowing the following procedures: start-up and shut-down, fueling, fire, runaway, emergency, and accidentResponsible for having knowledge of payload measurement system, over speed alarm, dispatch codes, shovel and truck horn signals, secondary brake, and park brakeResponsible for the safe performance of the following tasks: spotting at shovel, loading, transporting material, dumping on stockpiles, and dumping at crusherPerform other duties as requiredWhat You Bring To FreeportAbility to understand and apply verbal and written work and safety-related instructions and procedures in EnglishAbility to communicate in English with respect to job assignments, job procedures and applicable safety standardsMust have completed academic and practical competencies required (this includes Line of Progression requirements for internal employees where LOP Exists) and have experience demonstrating the required aptitude. The selected candidate shall demonstrate the ability to apply knowledge and skills while also passing a written assessment where required. This exam is based on skills/abilities and/or academic knowledge; as well as safety.Preferred QualificationsHigh School diploma or GEDThe estimated pay range for this role is currently $20.00 - $26.50/hour. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors. This role is eligible for additional discretionary and incentive payment considerations based on company and individual performance.
