As a Security Officer Patrol Observer in Newport News, VA , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Manufacturing & Industrial, and more. Join Allied Universal at a dynamic manufacturing and industrial location as an unarmed Patrol Officer, where you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and support access activities with professionalism. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and/or contractors by carrying out site-specific procedures, access protocols, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and reporting security-related concerns to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout production, fabrication, warehouse, parking, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or identify unusual conditions.
• Monitor entry and exit points, verify visitor and/or contractor access, and support the screening of deliveries, vehicles, and materials in accordance with location policies.
• Observe work areas and equipment surroundings for hazards, maintenance issues, and/or policy violations, and communicate findings through required reports and shift pass-downs.

Minimum Requirements:

• Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
• A guard card and/or license is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer and/or tablet is preferred.
• Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
