Job Title: Assistant Manager – Luxury Dog Hotel & Daycare

Location: 3622 E Willow Springs Rd, Spokane, WA 99223
Employment Type: Full-Time

Open 7 days a week, 365 days a year from 6:30 am to 9 pm daily; Primary Shifts - Evenings and Weekends

Position Overview:
We are seeking a passionate, organized, and hands-on Assistant Manager to support daily operations and uphold our high standards of care and customer service. This role is ideal for someone who loves dogs, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and has strong leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist the Office Manager in overseeing daily operations of the hotel and daycare
Supervise, train, and motivate staff to ensure excellent animal care and customer service
Monitor the health, safety, and behavior of all dogs in our care
Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in kennels, grooming areas, and common spaces
Ensure proper group play management and safe handling practices
Communicate with pet owners, providing updates and addressing questions or concerns
Manage scheduling, staffing levels, and shift coverage
Assist with inventory management, ordering supplies, and vendor coordination
Handle check-in/check-out processes and reservation management
Step in to support any operational area as needed, including direct animal care

Qualifications:

2+ years of experience in pet care, animal services, hospitality, or a related field
1 year supervisory or leadership experience
Strong knowledge of dog behavior and group play dynamics
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure
Physically able to stand, walk, lift (up to 50 lbs), and work in an active environment
Flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays

Preferred Skills:

Experience in a boarding, daycare, or veterinary setting
Certification in pet first aid/CPR (or willingness to obtain)
Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and empathetically
Experience in kennel management or pet sitting services is a plus
