Dental Assistant IJob Location: 234 E 149th Street, Lincoln Hospital, Bronx, NY 10451Pay Range: $31/Hr - $35/HrJob DutiesAssists in providing dental services including:Preparing patients for exam/treatment.Sterilizing instruments, maintaining equipment, mixing amalgams, cements, composites.Taking dental x-rays, maintaining records.Performing assigned lab procedures.Skills1 year experience.EducationValid certification to practice as a Dental Assistant issued by NYSED.Minimum QualificationsA four year High School diploma or its educational equivalent, including or supplemented by a course of study consisting of at least 600 instructional hours at an approved school for Dental Assistants;A four year High School diploma or its educational equivalent, including or supplemented by a course of study consisting of at least 300 instructional hours at an approved school for Dental Assistants plus six months full-time satisfactory experience as a Dental Assistant performing all of the following duties: taking, developing, and mounting dental radiographs, assisting dentist at chairside, sterilizing dental instrument using autoclave; orA four year High School diploma or its educational equivalent plus one year of full-time satisfactory experience as a Dental Assistant performing the duties described in 2 above; orA satisfactory combination of education and experience which is equivalent to 1, 2, or 3 above.
