Description: Mechanical Design Project Leader
Onsite Position in Sterling Heights, MI

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES MECHANICAL DESIGN PROJECT LEADER:

• Lead design teams on multiple projects of moderately complex scope.
• Oversee customer design review meetings.
• Complete 3-D designs and assemblies for a variety of ergonomic and automated tools using NX software.
• Analyze as-built tool design information and prepare design update plans.
• Ensure all as builds and non-conformances are updated on drawings.
• Create field sketches and layouts.
• Understand customer needs, apply technical knowledge to identify process requirements, recommend, and implement custom engineered solutions.
• Facilitates FMEA's/ERGO's at rough sketch and forty percent design completion phases.
• Fills out or reviews control line-up forms per designated project.
• Demonstrate Engineering professionalism in all activities and provide efficient service to customers.
• Must understand customer design and safety standards, build specifications, and deliverable requirements.

Work Hours: 40 - 50 hours per week, with overtime paid after 40 hoursFlexible start time between 6:00am to 8:00amRequirements:

EDUCATION / SKILLS / MECHANICAL DESIGN PROJECT LEADER

• Ten (10) years of experience or education in mechanical 3D solid modeling and design experience 
• Proficiency in NX design software
• Prefer experience with the following software: Data Management, Vis-Mock up and/or Teamcenter.
• Prefer experience in Automotive Tooling required, preferably Final Line / Trim Chassis Final (General Assembly).
• Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
• Attend customer, vendor, and internal reviews.
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Works as a team player with other departments.
• Understands and follows safety & environmental regulations and identifies safety/environmental concerns.
• Must have basic knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office.
