Position We are actively hiring an ETL Developer with TS/SCI clearance and polygraph to support a program in Bethesda, MD. The candidate will design, develop, implement, and test enterprise-level ETL solutions centered around Apache NiFi, ensuring scalable, secure, and high‑performance data flow for an enterprise data lake. Responsibilities Build complex NiFi data pipeline designs and implement enterprise‑level ETL pipelines for large-scale data ingestion, transformation, and processing from diverse sources. Optimize NiFi data flows, including processor tuning, memory management, and load balancing, to ensure optimal batch and real‑time performance. Troubleshoot and resolve complex NiFi data flow issues, including performance bottlenecks, data discrepancies, and integration failures. Integrate NiFi with big data and cloud technologies, such as AWS, OCI, Azure, Kafka, Elasticsearch, S3, and SQS/SNS. Apply best practices for NiFi development, deployment, security, and governance in accordance with enterprise data‑management policies. Document and maintain comprehensive records for NiFi data flows, mappings, architectures, and standard operating procedures. Collaborate with data architects, data engineers, application developers, and other stakeholders to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions. Basic Qualifications Direct experience designing, developing, and managing complex NiFi data flow solutions in large‑scale enterprise environments. Programming experience in Java and/or Python and scripting for automation. Experience writing and optimizing complex queries and interacting with relational and NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, DynamoDB). Experience with real‑time streaming, API integration (REST), and seamless data connectivity. Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or OCI and related data services. Strong analytical skills, ability to identify root causes, and implement effective solutions. Excellent collaboration skills and clear technical communication. HS diploma with at least 8 years of relevant experience; or BS degree with at least 4 years of relevant experience; or Master’s degree with at least 2 years of relevant experience. Preferred Qualifications Experience deploying ETL solutions in an AWS environment. Experience developing custom NiFi processors with Java and/or Python. Direct knowledge of NiFi architecture, processors, and configurations, including NiFi Registry and clustering for high availability and scalability. Compensation & Benefits The pay range for this position is \$180,000.00 - \$190,000.00. Compensation may vary based on geographic location, contract category, prior experience, specific skills, and certifications.
