CURRICULUM AND PERSONNEL SPECIALIST

Curriculum and Instruction Department Support
Responsible for maintaining the efficient operation of the Curriculum and Instruction department. To provide efficient, administrative support and perform job responsibilities in an accurate, courteous and positive manner. To become knowledgeable of any area pertaining to the employment and licensure of instructional personnel.
Duties:
- Assist with the coordination of the school division instructional programs and coordinate professional development activities for the office of Curriculum and Innovation
- Assist with the development of federal programs and grants; monitors implementation and completes required reports/grants in an accurate and timely manner
- Assist with the coordination of the New Teacher Orientation Program
- Prepare instructional materials for the school board meetings as applicable
- Track dates of observations and evaluations and prepare reports for the Principals and Chief Academic Officer
- Coordinate placing field experience students from a variety of universities
- Work with other curriculum personnel to coordinate division-wide professional development activities
- Maintain and update personnel databases, adding new employees and updating programs as reporting needs change
- Create, convert, revise and reproduce curriculum documents electronically and in hard copy as necessary for instructional support
- Process textbook orders, purchase requisitions, purchase orders and invoices as requested
- Coordinate attendance, register attendees, and make travel arrangements for meetings, workshops, seminars and conferences
- Prepare and maintain reports relative to curriculum and instruction
- Assist with the Master Schedule Collection Reporting
- Assist in monitoring the division website to ensure accurate and current instructional information is provided to stakeholders
- Maintain a file system of data, documents and correspondence
- Perform other duties as assigned
Education and Experience: Must possess a high school diploma or GED. College degree preferred. Clerical and administrative experience. Some personnel experience and experience dealing with the general public. Experience working in a school/school division setting is preferred.
Physical Requirements: Sensory skills to effectively communicate and interact with other employees and the public through the use of the telephone and personal contact as normally defined by the ability to see, read, talk, hear, handle or feel objects and controls. Physical capability to effectively use and operate various items of office related equipment, such as, but not limited to: a personal computer, calculator, copier, fax machine and projection and video devices. Ability to engage in significant climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, or repetitive motions.
