The CHART Project Specialist will support the planning, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of statewide initiatives focused on youth homelessness, human trafficking, and systems capacity building.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support the CHART team and serve as a lead or co-lead on strategic initiatives that advance research, innovation, evaluation, systems change, policy, and practice related to youth homelessness, human trafficking, and other emerging priorities.
- Contribute to the development, implementation, evaluation, and continuous improvement of projects, programs, tools, curricula, and other resources.
- Plan, coordinate, and support project implementation, ensuring activities align with established goals, timelines, grant requirements, and organizational priorities.
- Design, develop, and facilitate training, presentations, and technical assistance for internal staff, community partners, and other stakeholders.
- Provide consultation and implementation support to organizations adopting CHNJ-developed programs, curricula, screening tools, and other initiatives.
- Collect, organize, analyze, and synthesize quantitative and qualitative data to inform program improvement, research, reporting, and strategic decision-making.
- Prepare reports, presentations, publications, and other materials for internal and external audiences.
- Build and maintain collaborative relationships with community organizations, NGOs, schools, government agencies, funders, researchers, and other partners to support project goals.
- Represent CHNJ at meetings, trainings, conferences, and other events, and contribute to statewide and national conversations related to youth homelessness and human trafficking.
- Support policy, advocacy, research, and systems-change efforts by identifying emerging trends, gaps, and opportunities to improve outcomes for youth.
- Respond to work-related communications in a timely manner and maintain accurate project documentation.
- Perform other duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
Salary: $67,000 a year
Experience and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in social work, education, public health, human services, psychology, nonprofit management, or a related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in project management, training and technical assistance, youth services, education, homelessness, human trafficking response, or related fields.
- Strong understanding of issues impacting youth and families experiencing homelessness and/or human trafficking, including trauma-informed and youth-centered practices.
- Experience coordinating projects, managing multiple priorities, and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including report writing and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and virtual meeting/training platforms.
- Proficiency in Canva preferred.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively as part of a team.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to travel throughout New Jersey as needed.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
- Some evening or occasional weekend availability may be required for trainings or events.
