Position Description: Dispatch and manage company drivers and owner-operators for LTL pickups and deliveriesCoordinate daily routes, multi-stop loads, and linehaul schedulesCommunicate load details, routing, dock times, and special handling instructions to driversMonitor driver status, service issues, capacity constraints, and delivery performanceManage appointment scheduling with customers and terminalsTrack freight movement, delivery status, shortages, and exceptionsMaintain accurate load, driver, and delivery information in the TMSProactively communicate with customers regarding delays, changes, or service issuesEnsure compliance with DOT regulations, company safety policies, and hours-of-service requirementsResolve operational challenges such as missed pickups, late deliveries, freight exceptions, or equipment issuesCoordinate with warehouse and dock teams to ensure timely freight movementSupport billing and claims processes by providing accurate delivery records and documentationQualifications & ExperienceRequired:5+ years of experience in LTL or freight dispatchingExperience dispatching multi-stop routes and time-sensitive freightStrong knowledge of driver hours-of-service and DOT complianceProficiency with Transportation Management Systems (TMS)Excellent and professional communication, multitasking, and problem-solving skillsPreferred:Familiarity with freight class, NMFC codes, and accessorial chargesExperience with ELD systemsKnowledge of regional routes and traffic patternsSkills & CompetenciesStrong organizational and time-management skillsAbility to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environmentDetail-oriented with strong follow-throughCustomer-service focused mindsetAbility to remain calm and make decisions under pressure Job Advertisement: Salson is growing, and we’re looking for dependable, motivated individuals to join our team.
