About the Position

# Job Opportunity – Medical-Surgical Nurse – New Hampshire

Start Date: August 10, 2026

Location: Portsmouth, New Hampshire

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: Three 12-hour shifts per week, every other weekend, rotating holidays

Highlights:

• 36-bed Medical-Surgical unit with telemetry capabilities
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6, occasionally 1:7 during surge periods
• Supported by Unit Secretary on day shift and Licensed Nursing Assistants on both shifts
• Meditech Expanse electronic medical record system
• Self-scheduling available with leadership collaboration to balance unit needs
• Float to same level of care only

Requirements:

• Active New Hampshire RN license required at time of submission
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience in a hospital setting required
• Medical-Surgical nursing experience strongly preferred
• BLS certification required
• IV certification required
• Telemetry experience preferred

Clinical Responsibilities:

• Continuous bladder irrigation (CBI) management
• Advanced wound care and drain management (chest tubes, Jackson Pratt, etc.)
• Foley catheter insertion and management
• Central line dressing changes
• Telemetry monitoring and EKG interpretation
• Bedside shift report, hourly safety rounding, and patient experience initiatives
