Job Summary

DEFINITIONUnder direction of the Director of Transportation supervise journeymen and utility workers in the mechanical field and perform highly skilled work. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements / Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS Education/Certification/Experience: High school diploma or equivalent; valid California drivers license; driving record acceptable to the Districts insurance carrier; five (5) years skilled experience in the transportation field including journeyman experience as a mechanic. Licenses and other requirements: Valid California Class A drivers license No vehicle type restrictions Valid medical certificate issued by a District approved physician Subject to random drug testing First Aid and CPR Certificates Driving record acceptable to the Districts insurance carrier Complete background investigation as required Forklift Instructor for all District personnel. Class A Instructor/Trainer. HVAC certification Brake Inspection certification Journeyman certification in the following areas: front end electrical minor and major repair of engine transmission rear end computer control fuel injection systems and ABS systems. Desired Qualification: Supervisory experience.

Fingerprints will be taken at the time the position is accepted. Applicant is responsible for the required fingerprinting fee. (amount of fee varies) Payment is due at the time of service.
