Description

American Traveler seeks a Certified Surgical Technologist with vascular experience for a hospital Surgical Services unit supporting a 15-suite OR including hybrid and cardiothoracic rooms.

Details

• 26-week contract in a hospital Surgical Services department with 15 OR suites, including hybrid and cardiothoracic rooms
• Supports PACU, sterile supply, pharmacy, scheduling, and surgical offices
• CST Vascular specialty focus
• Monday through Friday schedule, 0630-1500
• Call required every other day and every other weekend

Requirements

• Minimum of 7 years of experience as a Surgical Technologist
• BLS certification required
• NBSTSA Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or NCCT Tech in Surgery Certified (TS-C) required
• Technical Diploma from an accredited Surgical Technologist program or comparable military training required
• License required if applicable
• Strong communication, collaboration, and customer service skills

Additional Information

• Serve as primary scrub person or assistant during operative procedures
• Prepare instruments and supplies, ensuring sterilization and availability for scheduled cases
• Maintain sterile field during case setup and throughout procedures
• Pass instruments and assist physician as needed, including cutting suture material or applying electrocautery under direct supervision
• Perform instrument, sponge, and sharps counts with the circulating nurse
• Assist with draping and patient positioning
• Perform post-case cleanup, including gross decontamination of instruments and proper transport to Central Sterile Processing
• Ensure OR suite is disinfected and stocked for the next procedure
• Complete mandatory hospital education and maintain compliance with HR and Employee Health requirements
• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility for travel rate eligibility; local candidates accepted at a lower rate
