Diesel Technician

Diesel TechnicianDiesel Technician will be responsible for a variety of tasks; including diagnostics, service repairs and preventative maintenance associated with maintaining a working fleet that meets DOT requirements. The successful candidate will be self-motivated and proficient in diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical issues, as well as execute the repairs. Possible Lead role available for correct candidateGeneral Requirements of all Diesel Technician:· All employees must conduct themselves with behavior that supports the mission, vision, and values of the company.· All employees are responsible for reviewing and understanding the contents of the employee handbook.· All employees must behave professionally with colleagues, customers, and prospective customers when representing the company.· All employees are responsible for making the most of their working time.· All employees are responsible for creating a safe work environment and demonstrating our commitment to safety to their colleagues and customers.· Employees are expected to keep company equipment clean and orderly.· Must understand and adhere to all OSHA standardsPrimary Duties and Responsibilities of the Diesel Technician:· Utilize vehicle computer electronics systems to interpret failure modes to initiate repairs· Collaborate with drivers to troubleshoot faulty equipment· Use technical knowledge to repair company vehicles properly and cost efficiently· Perform preventive maintenance inspection (PMI), troubleshoot, repair, and rebuild major components on vehicles and equipment including; engine repair and chassis maintenance· Work independently on equipment that requires a high level of skill with hydraulics, electrical, and diagnostics· Proficient in diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical issues· Estimate time and material costs on repairs and requisitions new parts· Respond to unscheduled service calls quickly and complete repairs efficiently· Maintain knowledge on existing equipment, as well as reading and understanding equipment manualsKnowledge and Skill Requirements of Diesel Technician:· 3+ years of working on diesel trucks, Construction equipment, Waste Vehicles, Tractor/Trailers, Agriculture equipment or Dump Trucks· Mechanical and electrical knowledge· Welding experience desired, but not required· Ability to multitask & juggle priorities· Problem-solving, analytical and critical thinking skills· Excellent communication skills· Strong work ethic with a positive attitude· Valid driver's license· Must have own toolsAll qualified applicants will receive consideration without regard to race, age, color, sex (including pregnancy), religion, national origin, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, marital status, military status, genetic information, or any other status protected by applicable laws or regulations.
